The simple thoughts

 A simple question

Hello to all today:

I feel burnt out. I have come here two days in a row and just can't seem to find words. It may be the fact that I had five tests in two days, and a completed paper...I just don't know. I'm tired and all I want to do is veg out. I am recently addicted to the computer network games....can't stop playing them.

So just a simple question to ask you all: What do you do to quiet your mind after an exhausting week?

 'The Game'

Hello to all today:

I am a very busy little girl, and I am seriously stressing over here. I have three tests tomorrow and then two on Friday. I also have to read some letters Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote from the German prison he was in. That paper is also due on Friday. During this week I also have to declare my two minors or state my second major, I'm thinking about a double major in psychology and elementary ed. that way if I don't want to go straight to grad school, I can still teach. I have an appointment with my guidance counselor...who seems to NEVER have time for me on Thursday. SHIT I still need to my taxes!

Anyway...{she takes a deep breath and grits her teeth}...due to recent troubles in my school (they shortened the semester by like three weeks! Is anyone else having issues with their school?) and so on, I have written a poem. It is called the Game. The picture I got from www.parknet.org

THE GAME

Walking through these halls
I am reminded of a game
A game where pink haired boys
always fall last to blond hair and blue eyes
A game where girls full of dreams
fall to the boys holding their hands
A game where you are taught that different is wrong
and the price of originality is loneliness
A game where all is controlled
by people who do not care to understand you
A game that teaches the basics
but nothing more
A game with cold stares
and hushed voices
One day I hope the players will remember my face
because, I fear this game is never going away.

 The future?

Hello today to all:

Well I have taken a break from my usual CNN Saturday watching to post a few questions. I just finished watching a program I hope you all get to see called 'the future'. CNN had like six people weighing in on the technological advances this country is making....and the world for that matter.

We all think of the future, and for the most part many of us are optimistic. We like the thought of flying cars and advances in medicine, but I must ask a question...When will these advances go too far, and will we be able to notice that they have crossed a line. When is morality no longer thought of?

For example, I think its great that adults who cannot, for what ever reason, have children be able to have their sperm and eggs inserted into the mother to form their own child, but is it okay to give an embryo a genetic makeup to cure diseases? Or even farther than that, is it okay to make them have an IQ of a genius, or the ability to be a sports genius? When is medicine taking away from our ability to chose and love what we chose to do? The reason why we feel important is because of our talents...which are different and not chosen by our parents. I mean what if a father wished his son to be a football star but he grew up and became a doctor? Now, in todays world the father would hopefully embrace his son, but in tomorrows world his son would be a football player, or worse not be a football star because his distaste for the sport, and have no other intellect to do anything else.

Or what about chips being placed in the mind, all personal information no longer on cards but in finger tips or the info being pulled up by the irises of the eyes? I don't want people to walk by and sense what I am thinking. I don't want someone to steal my eyeballs instead of my credit card. I understand there are reasons this technology is used for people with diseases to be able to function like the average person, but come on how long until those who can afford it will have it? And then the average person will have to fight to keep up.

While holograms may be cool, I'm afraid one night I'll wake up from sleep and there will a man in my computer room waiting for others to show up to a meeting in hong-kong. And somehow he ended up in my house!

This is all very scary stuff. You know technology is cool and needed in this world today, but there will come a day when we no longer meet for lunch or dinner. We no longer drive to school and sit next to friends. We will no longer have beautiful children, we will have robots. And I wonder if we would even notice! I think not, especially if we are introduced a little at a time. Like with TV. At first it was weird and now everyone has two or three, one in their car, one in their offices, one in their phones! I mean it will become mainstream and I don't think it will be good.

We will live longer, have perfect children, and somehow never see the world. We will no longer clean, drive, worry, or have sex, and the trade off will be our simple mundane lives.

Just a simple thought!

 The Scorpio

Hello to all today:

Today I want to share the Scorpion sign with you all. Boyfriend and I were both born under the Scorpion sign in 1980. It seems to me like Scorpios have been given a bad rep, so I want to clear the air. Also, if any of you are interested maybe I can find info on your signs and post them. I would love to have comments from others on whether you guys think this is true.

What is hidden deep within the soul is what the Scorpion is interested in. Many Scorpios take on the task of exploring not only our own, but others close to us. We want to know the deep dark truths in the soul of every person. We are not interested in tenderness and beauty, we would much rather see the horror and dark inside everyone. We are drawn to the mystery of life and sometimes will make a mystery out of nothing, so we can explore. When I speak of horror I mean "dark" emotions...such as passion, jealousy, revenge, desire.

Scorpios are attracted to crisis. We feel most alive when we are near others who are testing themselves, as we often test ourselves. This is why Scorpios make great doctors or fighters. We do not fear death, and are not going to shy away when there is a dangerous situation. This is why Scorpios can make one of the best friends, because when the going gets tough....we can step forward and fight...with no judgment or contempt. We simply just understand and respect the dark forces in life and are willing to walk through the fire for ourselves and others. Many say this is self destructive, but the truth is that everyone must face these emotions to live a fully rounded life. While Scorpios may seem a little dark, there is a darkness in life that needs to be noticed also.

Scorpios have great compassion and sympathy for those in pain. Scorpios have the ability to look past all the smiles and truly feel pain as one who has been hurt. For this reason Scorpions may feel contempt for those people who say they have never felt pain, or seem to have never been hurt. It is a bad trait, I know, but when one doesn't feel pain then what are they getting out of life? How do they know they feel good?

Scorpios need emotional intensity to survive. When one carries so much passion and intensity, it is hard to simply go through the motions. Especially in very personal close relationships we need to know that if somethings happens all will be lost. That is why having a relationship with a Scorpio is always going to be rocky. They will go through extremes faster than most can keep up. They will focus on the negatives because this aspect of the relationship is what keeps them wanting more. Scorpios are not going to do well in simple little lives, mundanely following the previous days path, they must, for their own survival know what they are accomplishing. And if it is love then they are fierce.

Scorpios may not question their existence or the existence of emotions. We know that there are things with no earthly meaning to them, and often these things are the dark ones.

With all the dark there is hope my Scorpio friends. We are full of passion. We find passion in others that they may not even be aware they posses. We value friendship so we do not like to betray, for losing a true friend will drop to a very dark place within ourselves that we do not even like to go. We value, respect, honor, and fear love. Love will be our greatest feat if we are able to hold on to it. Any Scorpio knows what I mean. We will attempt to sabotage a relationship in the beginning to make sure it is worth the fight in the end. (Now imagine two of these under one roof). Not having fear of the hidden forces makes us seem fearless...and this is not correct, we hold fear just as others, but as one fears looking too close, we fear of not looking close enough and this is a cause for much concern with our friends and family.

We are strong and courageous. We know when their needs to be a change and we make the change happen one way or the other. We are not going to sit quietly and wait until the situation changes itself!

We are jealous and controlling. This is not a bad thing when we realize our limits and work with them.

While we may enjoy conflict we must realize that others do not. We must respect others! We must respect ourselves. We must learn to control the need to dive further. Once this is done others will see our passions without having to face the dark.

But then again we are Scorpios and the dark is a part of our make-up so one can either see and stay, or see and hide. We are great teachers, friends, and LOVERS. Take us for whom we are, because we love you!

I awoke to rolling thunder and lightening strikes. Rain fell in barrals and everything was telling me not to get out of bed. It was as if Mother Nature herself was telling me this perfect day was screwed and she was never going to appologize for it!

So I hope you guys had a great first day of spring.

PLease tell me it was sunny and peaceful somewhere out there!
