The simple thoughts

 boy oh boy
Back to Full Blog

Hello to all today:

Boy oh boy at the mess we see ourselves in! FOLEY! Congress is going crazy. But here is the question I must ask. Does this new scandal have anything to do with the politics and the politicians involved?

One one hand I have to say YES. This scandal is a cover-up that has been in motion for months....yes I said months. Where were the leaders in charge? What were they thinking allowing a man to stay in the power and control he was used to? Also, why were there no outsiders from the democratic party involved? That just leads one to say...if people seriously screw up in Congress, who controls them?

However, on the other hand, I would hate for the left to gain power only because of the tragic story. I think the democrats should regain power because of the impotence of the right.

Slippery slope our nation is in this voting year.
I hope we all realize what is at stake and vote given that information. If there are new advances in the war, for example, we should realize we are in a political battle....and it one that thus far has been exciting in deed.

Yep, exciting!

Thanks for stopping in today:
Nik

I actually hope this does work to the dems advantage just because change is so badly needed (in my opinion anyway). In two or four or six years I'm fairly certain I will be disgusted with most of the democrats too (assuming that they do return to dominance) and at that time I will be ready to start the Anerican Populist Party. Please remember to vote for our candidates; you'll only be "wasting" your vote if you feel like you are.

Hey Nik, how are you? Just dropping by to catch up with some old friends. Sorry I've been such a stranger. Life gets crazy busy sometimes, ya know? But I hope you're OK. Take care.

Good post Nikki...it is kind of interesting that there are so many strong issues and everyone, but the ones involved want to focus on the scandal. I for one will vote with the issues in mind...the truth is politicians seem to think they are above any form of oversight and either party is subject to scandal....I'll be voting a straight Democratic ticket...but it is about the issues for me....

It would be nice if the Foley issue weren’t political but politicians on both sides have made it so. My two lingering questions are:
1. Were donations to each others’ re-election campaigns tantamount to hush money?
2. Since everyone admits to knowing of “some” problems with Mr. Foley as far back as 10 years, how is it that he was appointed to that position in the first place. Seems as though the fox was allowed to guard the henhouse.
