The simple thoughts

 A woman President?
Back to Full Blog

Hello to all today:

This post is going to be extremely simple. How do you guys feel about having a woman pres?

I really like Hillary Clinton. I hope she runs and I hope she wins in 2008. I am worried however, about her baggage...that being the former pres Clinton. I am afraid that many people will not even give her a chance due to her relationship with him.

What do you guys think? Yes or no on women presidents...and who would you like to see run in 08....man or woman?

Thanks for stopping in today:
Nik

I think it's a shame that we still are wondering if a WOMAN could be president. How about let's vote for the best PERSON for the job? Many other countries in the world have had women leaders just as a matter of course. Too bad our men have such a macho hangup that they would be threatened by the whole thing.

Saying all that, I'm not sure that Hillary is the ONE....but not because she's a woman!

AT first I didn't think I would vote for Hilary because of how her husband humiliated her in front of the whole world and she stayed with him....his clothes would have been on the front lawn of the White House if it were me....
But....I have had a change of mind and would definately support her!

hey ruby

you are right it shouldn't even be an issue, but unfortunately I know alot of men who would not vote for a woman because you...that time of the month.

But I too think that Sen. Clinton will be the first...and I'm happy for it!

Hey Lucy

Yea...when it all happened I remember feeling so bad for her, but now I actually think she is stronger for sticking it out. No one knows how a relationship really is untill you're in it.

I think Hillary would probably be a great President...Actually Bill might be an asset..he is a wonderful campaigner...The main thing that concerns me about her is her tip toeing around the war in Iraq. I would like her to publically come out with her solution...Otherwise I am sure I would vote for her!

I would love to see it happen, but I am doubtful. I was talking to a lady the other day who quit going to a church because "a woman was teaching Sunday school" and somewhere in the Bible it states that a woman should not be in authority over a man. Too many Nascar conservative right types.

If we ever do have a president she will have to be a republican! I wonder how these narrow-minded bigots would vote when faced with a "liberal" or a woman leader. I would love to see the day!

I would agree with Miss Janine. I have no problems with a woman being president. It doesn't bruise my ego or my "machoism". I think that whoever is the best person for the job, whether they be male or female, black or white, is the right person for the job.

But as Miss Janine said, there are too many right-wing Bible-thumping Republicans that would not ever want to see such an offront to God. As if religion and government were ever meant to be mixed. But since God talks to Dubyah, I guess with this administration it is an exception. (How can one type dripping sarcasim?)

In the end, if there were a woman on ballot, I would probably vote for her if she was right for the job.

Someone I would like to see run is Collin Powell.

hey CC

I just watched footage from the New York debate where Clinton was debating against the repub. (sorry I can't remember his name) She did mention the Iraq war...but then again just stating that we needed to change strategies and get rid of Rumsfeld ( I don't know if I spelled that right)

But the repub said that is a decision for the commander in chief and she isn't president yet.

So it's kinda like she's damned if does and damned if she don't

Hope all is well with you!

Hey Janine-

Some of the guy friends I have say that if a minority (i hate saying that) runs for president ( that includes women) and wins the election. They would be assinated within a year.

I think that is a very scary idea. Closed minded americans...scare me more than most other threats.

Yes to a woman president of course! I think she would be great, but she has to be ready to face what they are going to scoop out on her and the pressure to be better, more intelligent, then an avg male president. I mean come on, woman already are more intelligent then the avg president, but will she have the courage to take her stand? I hope so. It's merely a challenge and i know she can do it!

I would go for a person that would stop the wars and have global peace.Cause if we as human beings don't take a stand we will not have to worry about anything as it will all be gone and so will we!!!!!

hey Adam

Thanks for commenting. i don't about Powell. He's a little iffy to me. I'd like to see H. Clinton vs. Rice.

That's a catfight I would gladly pay to see. Ha

hey Decorous

I think you are right. A woman would have to go well beyond that which we demand for the normal pres. She would also have to stand for sometihing. And stand strong...never falter. But, women do that everyday in everyday lives.

I can't wait to see it on the political front.

Hi Nikki I'm sorry the wimps have sent you nasty or rude PMs, geez what freaking losers!!! You are sweet like a lot of people on here so why would someone feel the need to insult you?? I wonder if these nasty PMers are maybe the same loser who just likes getting under people's skins in a very obnoxious and weasely way. And yes they are fake asses that is why they are nasty in the PM, I say everyone needs to out these fools so that we can ignore them, if they can't play nice they need to be scorned.

I agree with what you wrote to me, I want everyone's words and comments on my blog, I have only erased one comment once and that was because that comment was about another blogger and it upset that blogger and they asked if I could delete it, I did, but I first told the person who sent it that I was deleting it and I told them why, they were very cool with it...hmmm I have not seen that person in a while I hope they are still blogging, they were pretty funny and nice!

Oh I would never make bad comments on anyone's blog, I might disgree with their opinions, but heyyyyy each person has their own truth and each person is entitled to it. And I see no reason to get nasty because of opposing views, that makes no sense.
Have a really great day Nikki I can tell you are a very cool girl!!!!

I wouldn't mind a woman president myself. The males haven't done so hot recently! I'm not sure the rest of the world is ready though. Despite Clinton and Rice's fame and popularity I don't think the time is yet right.

Woman President: why not (since they're all smarter than the average President, OK), Hilary: I'm not so sure I would want that although she couldn't help being better than Bush (you can say that about many, many people, most of whom will never run). Who would I like to see as President?: Russ Feingold (the junior senator from WI, D, for those who don't know him)

nikki rae

in the early eighties American Airlines, sensing the direction, asked all passengers the question, "if a woman was deemed qualified and we gave her the left seat and she was in command?". 95% of men answered no problem, 95% of women said that they would not fly on that flight. interesting

That is very interesting in deed. I wonder why it was like that. I also wonder if it would be like that today? There really doesn't seem to be a ton of "feminine" support behind the lady Clinton. Isn't it thoughtful?

hhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm

Thanks
