Hello to all today:
HAPPY MARTIN LUTHER KING JR day!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so frustrated with the fact that there are people still alive today who will not even recognize this Holiday!
MLK did more in his life than many of us will ever do combined. He was the face and voice of change. He not only stood up to fight for human rights, but he died for it.
His life should be praised by all races and then one day we may all live the idea he believed in.
In today's world, in the contacts that we all share, there is an underlying hatred....and MLK would be heart broken if he saw it today.
We should all celebrate his life and even for a day remember his legacy!
Thanks for stopping in today: Nik

For most people it's just a goverment holiday and you don't get know mail.
They should make schools and everything shut down, even some banks were open on Monday...
So sad Miss Nikki.
I heartily agree with you. I think people never saw or were afraid of how much a difference one man can make.
I've heard people say, "He wasn't such a great man; he had affairs, you know." To which I always respond, "You have no proof, just rumors. More importantly, even if he did have affairs, our country recognizes many great leaders who had affairs, not the least of which were Thomas Jefferson, Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, (I'd list Bill Clinton, but not everyone counts him as a great leader) and other presidents.
Anyway, no matter what he did in his personal life, his public life was what counted. He will continue to have a positive impact on this country and others for centuries to come.
In his great speach "I have a dream" He said that he dreamed of a day when people were judged by the content of their character, not by the color of their skin. If we did that very thing Bill Clinton would never have become president. The truth of the matter is that we have a world of Celebrity Admirers. If we did what MLK said most of the entertainment types in this country would be poverty stricken.
But like I said, "most people don't get the point'
MLK's birthday is the same as my son's so I can't forget it.
